A few months in Cologne

Arrive, live, move on.

When a hotel is not enough and a conventional rented flat is too much, temporary living fits exactly in between.

  • A project or a work stay

Several months in Cologne, with a fixed address, an apartment of your own and a kitchen for everyday life. That feels more like living than like a hotel.

The layout

One room or two. The choice is yours.

Our studio apartments offer plenty of space for living, sleeping and working in one generous room. The kitchen and the shower room are separate, which keeps the living area clearly laid out and pleasantly quiet.

If you would rather have somewhere to retreat to, choose one of our one-bedroom apartments with a bedroom of its own. The living area has room to sit, eat and unwind, and the workspace sits separately in the bedroom.

Every apartment is fully furnished and equipped for a longer stay.

All the apartments are in one building in Cologne-Buchforst, east of the Rhine between Mülheim and Kalk. Anyone staying for months soon notices that the daily commute matters more than the distance to the cathedral.

  • Train and bus at the door

KVB stops, Buchforst station and bus stops are less than 500 metres away.

  • Deutz, trade fair, city centre

The three destinations most of our guests head for in the morning.

Temporary living, briefly explained.

Between a hotel and a conventional rented flat there is a straightforward alternative: a fully furnished apartment for a fixed period. Ideal for anyone who wants to live in Cologne for a few months.

What does temporary living mean?

You rent a fully furnished apartment for a limited period, at THE17 for one to six months. Furniture, kitchen, Wi-Fi and utilities are already sorted. You move in, you live there, and at the end you simply hand the apartment back. No furniture to buy, no contracts for electricity or internet, and no flat to clear.

How is it different from a hotel?

Above all: more space and more everyday life. You have your own apartment with a kitchen, a fridge, an oven and a dining table. You can cook for yourself, do your laundry free of charge and simply spend the evening at home. And you do not have to give up the service: cleaning every 14 days, fresh bed linen and towels included.

And different from a conventional rented flat?

Considerably less work. A normal flat usually means buying furniture, registering electricity and internet, and organising all of it again when you leave. At THE17 that is already done. Heating, electricity, water and Wi-Fi are part of the monthly price, and the apartment is fully furnished when you move in. How the process works, from enquiry to move-in

One room or two?

It depends on how you want to live. Our studio apartments bring living, sleeping and working together in one generous room, with the kitchen and bathroom separate. If you would rather have somewhere to retreat to, or there are two of you, the one-bedroom apartments add a bedroom behind its own door. See all apartments

Why Cologne-Buchforst?

Because from here you are quickly where you need to be. Train and bus are a few minutes away, and Deutz and the Koelnmesse are close by as well. Supermarket, bakery and pharmacy are right in the district, and on Wednesdays and Saturdays the weekly market adds to them. On a longer stay, what counts is not only the apartment but what lies right outside the door. Location and journey times in detail

The right layout

How much space do you need?

  • Studio apartments in Cologne

One room for everything, with your own kitchen and bathroom. The compact option when what you mainly need is somewhere to land.

  • One-bedroom apartments in Cologne

A separate bedroom and living room. Worth it when you are staying longer, or when someone comes with you.

  • Corporate housing in Cologne

The most common reason for a temporary stay is work. What that adds: an invoice to the company, several employees, one point of contact.
